In the EMBA we believe that church leadership is fundamental to growing healthy churches that embody the Good News and share their faith with their communities. Inspiring and equipping leaders at every level plays a big part in the work of the Association.
We’re so passionate about this that we are calling 2026 the EMBA Year of Developing Leaders. We are making the identifying, equipping and resourcing of leaders a priority.
So, whether it’s Small Group Leaders, Deacons, Church Secretaries or Ministers, we aim to help people to respond to the call of God into leadership, provide training that is accessible and useful, and share resources that equip churches.
We believe that if leaders function better, the whole church grows.
Throughout 2026 we will be offering:
- Ministers Conference – Alex Harris will be sharing about Everyone Everywhere – Growing Everyday Leaders
- "Core": 10 minute video sessions for everyone coming into leadership,
- "Serve" practical sessions (either in person or online) around different areas of church life, e.g. preaching service leading, being a church treasurer
- supporting and enabling people to explore Recognised Local Ministry and accredited ministry.
- An opportunity specially for women to explore and reflect on calling to church leadership at every level
- Podcasts – reflecting about leadership for everyone.
