Philosophy – Why?

Following Jesus’ example, the group exists ultimately to assist others in safeguarding and protecting those who are vulnerable or in need of help.

Purpose – What?

The group will do this by primarily raising awareness across the EMBA that safeguarding is at the heart of the life of the church and therefore the church’s core business. In addition the group will assist by:-

>> Providing relevant, up to date information to equip people in the knowledge and ability to act proactively and preventatively

>> Offering advice, training and consultation on both general and specific safeguarding issues to equip individuals and churches in acting responsibly and appropriately

>> Helping to create church environments that allow children and vulnerable adults to access help and support easily, and to enable those working with children and vulnerable adults to be more confident and act without fear in such circumstances
