| The Church has completed the first phase of a two stage renovation project. It has installed new windows downstairs, installed a new, wider door into the side of the entrance porch for wheelchair access, widened the entrance doors into the worship area to provide wheelchair access, replaced the old roof over the toilet area with a new flat roof and installed a new audio visual system in the worship area.
Works which form the second and final phase include blocking-up the unused balcony windows, internal and external decoration and installation of a new external illuminated cross.
Some months ago thieves stole the old amplification system which was due to be replaced. They left a mess in their trail and prompted the Church to build in extra security measures for their new equipment. |
This newly amalgamated church has thrown itself into mission with 'commitment, hard work and faith.' It launched into a three year plan completing many of its objectives - an additional daytime prayer meeting, a 'Meet our Neighbours' visitation team, staged community events and continued with its puppet ministry - much of this despite unsuitable and outdated premises.
It has gained planning permission for a redevelopment of its site which will mean seeking a temporary home for six months until the work is complete.
The existing Church will be turned into a hall / reception / coffee area with new toilets, a kitchen and two classrooms. At the rear a new 150 seater worship area will be created. |
